MEET SIRIUS – BONDED WITH REGULUS
Sirius is a playful, affectionate young black cat (estimated DOB: 3/5/2024) who loves to spend time with his brother and foster human. Sirius is the calmer brother, but that doesn’t mean he’s not full of affection and playful energy! He is happy to jump on your lap and sleep for hours. He has an adorable habit of nuzzling your neck and gazing lovingly into your eyes. Sirius is vocal when he wants his next meal and has a hearty appetite! He is very caring and loves to groom his brother. Sirius and Regulus do almost everything together, including following their foster human around the house.
We rescued Regulus and Sirius from Chicago Animal Care and Control.
Regulus and Sirius and bonded and must be adopted together. They have not been around children or dogs.
Sirius has FIV. Humans and dogs cannot catch FIV. It is exclusively a feline virus that can only be spread to other cats through blood. This typically only occurs during very rough fights, which is why it is most common in cats who have lived on the streets. An FIV+ cat is very unlikely to spread the virus to an FIV- cat while play-fighting.
FIV is not a “sickness.ā There are no medications or special treatment of any kind required. The only noticeable effect of FIV is a weakened immune system, so cats who are FIV+ should not go outside.
